Jose R. Lamas, M.D., FACS
Dr. Jose R. Lamas is a well-recognized General, Vascular and Laparoscopic Surgeon with over 20 years of experience in a multitude of advanced surgical procedures. Dr. Lamas is a Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Society of Abdominal Surgeons and the Society of Breast Surgeons.
Dr. Lamas graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School with honors and completed his surgical training at Jackson Memorial Hospital/ University of Miami. He has received numerous awards and proclamations for excellence as a pioneer of the medical profession, as well as, a tribute by the Florida House of Representatives for outstanding selfless contributions to the community he serves.
Dr. Lamas has received both the Patient’s Choice Award and the Compassionate Doctor Recognition Award in 2013.
Dr. Lamas is a leader, having been President of the Board, Chairman of Medical Executive Committee, and Director of Surgery at different hospitals in his community.
Dr. Lamas has been instrumental in creating Women’s Health Breast Stereotactic Programs, as well as, minimally invasive and endovascular interventional procedures.
Dr. Lamas is a clinical Assistant Professor of General Surgery at Florida International University.
Dr. Lamas has performed over 15,000 procedures ranging from routine minimally invasive laparoscopic cholecystectomies and hernias to more advanced procedure like Endovascular Aortic Stents and Minimally Invasive Radionucleide Parathryrodectomy (MIRP).
